What's it all about?
The short version: this is where Dan K puts thoughts before they start taking over the room.
Greetings and salutations. My name is Dan K, hence Dank. I'm a software consultant working on web apps, which is a grand way of saying I spend a lot of time helping browsers, servers and people reach a workable agreement.
I have not always done that. Before software, and sometimes alongside it, I have been a bookseller, a CEX worker, a call centre monkey and, for over a decade, a Tent Erection Technician. This may not be the traditional route into consultancy, but it teaches you plenty about customers, chaos, cables, complaints, weather and why instructions matter.
I'm also the maintainer of Hyper-Dank, the framework and libraries this blog is built with. The docs and npm packages are public too. It is my attempt to keep web app development direct, visible and just weird enough to stay interesting.
Away from work I play Dungeons & Dragons, slap bass, abuse other instruments, get absorbed by odd problems and occasionally remember to write things down.
This blog is where those thoughts go: programming, RPGs, video games, jazz, food, travel, philosophy, jokes that probably needed one more edit, and whatever happens to have my attention at the time.
If you want to see what I'm building, you can check out my GitHub page here.
